Perinatal / Postpartum Therapy
You don't have to navigate the transition to parenthood alone.
You don't have to navigate the transition to parenthood alone.
Becoming a mother (Matrescence) has so many layers. This process includes the physical, emotional, social, and mental changes that happen throughout pregnancy and after childbirth. The body changes, brain changes, hormones change, relationships change, and identity changes.
"I didn't just learn about perinatal mental health in a textbook—I lived it."
When I was in the thick of my own postpartum journey, I experienced firsthand how overwhelming, isolating, and disorienting the transition into parenthood can be. Like so many new parents, I found myself navigating a complex web of emotions—expectations versus reality, intense identity shifts, depression and anxiety.
Emerging from that season changed everything for me. It transformed not only how I viewed family systems, but it lit a fire in me to become a therapist dedicated to ensuring no parent has to walk through the perinatal period feeling alone, invisible, or broken.
Postpartum Anxiety & Intrusive Thoughts:
Many parents are scared to speak about the scary and sometimes repetitive thoughts. These are not character flaws- they are treatable symptoms. Don't let these thoughts grow in the shadows. It's okay to ask or help.
Postpartum Depression:
Symptoms like severe fatigue, rage, detachment, or loss of identity, are all symptoms of postpartum depression. Men can also experience postpartum depression. I can teach you skills to help through this new transition.
Perinatal & Postpartum Couples Therapy:
Going from being a couple in love to parents can shake up a relationship. We can address the division of labor, sexual intimacy changes, communication breakdowns, boundaries with family, and transitioning from "partners" to "co-parents" so we can continue to build the couple relationship while you're figuring out parenthood.
Fertility, Pregnancy Loss & Birth Trauma:
Let me help you create a dedicated space to validate the grief and pain of miscarriage, stillbirth, infertility stress, or difficult labor/delivery experiences.
